This book, although
not strictly about Brundall, was published by
Brundall Local History Group and is the work of our
former Chairman, Wendy Ward. She has been a
resident of Brundall for the last fifty years and
has been a member of the Group since its
inception. She has been persuaded to have her
book put into our Shop for sale as it is one of our
publications.
.
The book is divided into four parts:
Book One: Family life and work
Book Two: Musical activities
Book Three: Holidays
Book Four: Retirement
Appendix: Reminiscences of a Headmaster - a
talk given by her father in 1954
There are three sets of pictures, the first two in
black and white and the third in colour

Book One: Family tea in the garden

Book Two: Quartet at Keswick Hall Music course in
the early 1950s
Left to right: June Cubitt, Wendy Ward, Judith High,
Jean Seager

Book Three: On holiday in Switzerland in the early
1970s. You don't often get such a glorious
day when going up to the Gornergrat to get a view of
the Matterhorn. Never to be forgotten!

Book Four: Wendy was an avid motorhomer from 1989
till 2011 when she sold the above van to a friend.
This photograph was taken at a local campsite in
Briston, not far from Melton Constable.
There was every mod. con. on this van; shower room
with toilet, oven with hob and grill,
settee which opened out to a three by six foot bed
and an awning as can be seen in the photo.
This book is available from Budgens and Brundall
Homehardware as well as from our on-line shop priced
at £9.95.
